So many people have asked ...
Lily was a rescued cat who we adopted in 2000 from the Providence
Animal Shelter. Looking to offer an abandoned cat a home and love, and to find Simon (our orange tabby) a playmate, we were literally picked by
a skinny muted calico in need of much TLC! Lily became one of the most loving animals you could ever meet, preferring the company of humans to
other animals, yet loving to cuddle with her pal Simon. She spent her evenings in our laps with arms outstretched around our necks and slept
every night on Catherine's head. Overcoming an unfortunate accident whereby she swallowed twelve inches of nylon ribbon, Lily developed mammary cancer during her sixth year and passed away before she was
eight. She was so loved, but needed so much help—first from the humans in her life, and ultimately from Simon who cared for her and kept her clean and calm until the very end.
She, like this house, was a gift in our lives. When we found her and this
property, both needed someone to believe in them and give them the chance to shine. We couldn't help but name this home for her.
